A Dual Channel MEDACS can monitor "overflow to storm" in a Storm Sewer Overflow (SSO).

A level controller provides (4 to 20) mA proportional to level, which is then split into two (4 to 20) mA spans, one proportional to level, the second proportional to head at the overflow point. Should the pumps be unable to clear the level, it overflows to storm via a V notch weir, whereby the flow is monitored by span 2 and converted to flow by the onboard flow law. This data can then be recorded.
