Enclosures
Status offer a range of suitable wall mounted enclosures to accept the range of Medacs modules and associated power supplies. All units are fitted with a symmetric DIN rail and hinged transparent polycarbonate cover.
Power Supplies
- DIN Rail Power Supply
- Universal Supply Voltage
- UL, CE and CSA approved
- Isolated to 3 kV
- Suitable for up to 6 Medacs Units
- Rail mounted to DIN 43 880
The MED 2911 is a high performance switch mode power supply which is very small and compact for the power it delivers and which complements the Medacs range of signal conditioning units. It connects to the mains supply and provides an isolated 24 VDC supply which will power up to 6 Medacs units hence providing the power for up to 12 channels.
RS232 to RS485 Converter
Medacs units use the robust RS485 serial communications standard that can be used over large distances and is suitable for Multi-drop communications. Most PC computers are equipped with a RS232 serial port which, although suitable for most peripheral devices, is not suitable for the harsh industrial environments encountered in a typical factory. It is therefore necessary to convert the RS232 into the RS485 standard used by Medacs. With the larger distances problems resulting from differences in ground potentials can become a problem and so Status offer the MEDACS 2921, RS232 to RS485 convertor which is isolated internally to remove ground loop effects.
RS232 to RS485 Converter for Bench Programming
The MEDACS 2922 is a low cost RS232 to 4 wire RS485 convertor which is designed to provide an interface between Medacs units and the standard serial port of a PC computer. The unit takes its power either from the existing powered Medacs network or from an external 24 V supply, connected via an integral connector socket. This power source is used to also power the Medacs unit providing a quick and easy method of bench programming Medacs units. |
